Bento, from convenience to love
The word ‘bento’, originates from Chinese Southern Song Dynasty slang term biàndāng, which literally means ‘convenient’. Since being imported to Japan in the 16th century, bento - a single-portion take-out or home-packed meal, has become an important part of Japanese food culture.

Beyond the convenience of a packed meal, bento, prepared with care and love, conveys the feelings of the maker to the eater and stands as an essential communication tool in Japanese society. What's better than a nicely prepared meal to show how much you care? Due to its convenience, bento has spread across countries such as China, Korea, Philippines and India, each with their own diverse range of flavours. It remains as popular as ever today.

What we do
At Bento, we aim to capture genuine Asian food culture - not only tasty, handmade packed meals, but also a fresh approach that stands apart from the high street takeaway. Diverse, healthy and authentic Asian cuisine at affordable prices.

We constantly strive to offer freshly handmade sushi, Chinese dim sum and hot bento every day using traditional methods and only the best ingredients.

We are dedicated to delivering consistency through our recipes, quality and service. We prepare food that we enjoy eating and sharing with others. This will always be at the heart of everything we do for our customers.
